KLUANG: Police have arrested four burglars who break into mobile phone shops here and then sell their loot to buy drugs.
The suspects, aged between 25 and 42, streamyx reseller broken into streamyx setup shop at 3am recently and escaped with 20 mobile phones, prepaid cards and other items. Witnesses contacted the police.
Police nabbed them in a house three days later and recovered the phones, cards and several streamyx modem tools.
Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Fawzi Arshad said the suspects tested positive for drugs.
In another case, Police detained a 30-year-old mastermind of a robbery gang who preyed on Good Samaritans at estates on Tuesday.
A gang member would lie on the road near an estate’s entrance prompting people to stop their vehicles to help. The other members would rob them once they have stopped their cars.
